Until now, you may not have realized that some problems you’ve been facing all your life may be related to ADHD symptoms. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has three main groups of symptoms: inability to focus, hyperactivity, impulsiveness. The ADHD is not caused by lack of discipline, excessive watching of TV or bad food habits. It is a neuro-biological disorder, which means that its causes are of biological nature. More precisely, it is caused by an imbalance of certain chemicals in our brain. Some people consider ADHD a mere childhood flaw that a child usually grows out of. Nevertheless, 60 % of people suffering from ADHD in their childhood have been experiencing its symptoms also as adults.
ADHD is a frequent disorder and it is estimated to be affecting at about 3–4 % of adults, both men and women. Unfortunately, only a small percentage of people affected with this disorder is seeking and receiving appropriate help. This disorder is diagnosed on the basis of clinical examination and consultation. That’s why it is vital for people to have access to medical staff with professional background. It is thus only natural that we are donating the funds raised within The 16Hz Project to the League for Mental Health.
